Deposit and Credit card Information:

ACCEPTED: American Express, Discover Card, Eurocard, Japanese Credit Bureau Credit Card, MasterCard (not prepaid), Visa (not prepaid). Debit card not accepted unless otherwise stated below. A deposit amount from a minimum of EUR 300 to a maximum of EUR 650 will be held against your credit card for the duration of the rental. Your deposit is a guarantee held in the event of damage/theft of the vehicle. This will be automatically released if there is no theft or damage during the rental period. Please note that this does not represent your total excess liability which can be found in the Insurance Coverage section. Credit card(s) must be valid for up to 6 months after the rental has ended. NOT ACCEPTED: No other payment types will be accepted. A valid credit card in the first name and surname (no abbreviations) of the lead driver must be presented at the rental desk in order to pre-authorise/charge a deposit. The credit card(s) must be embossed and a PIN number may be required. In the event that you fail to present a valid credit card, there is a lack of sufficient funds available on the credit card or the credit card is not in the lead driver's name, the car rental agent may refuse to release the vehicle. In these instances, no funds paid will be reimbursed.

Customers who fall outside the age limitations will not be able to rent a car unless there is a young or senior driver fee specified in this section. Please note that, if applicable, this fee will be included in the rental price and will be payable on arrival at the rental desk in the local currency.

Travel Restrictions

Cross border rentals and territorial restrictions:

The vehicle selection can restrict travel to certain countries. For a description of these restrictions on admission, the countries are divided into three zones.

Zone 1: Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finnland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Great Britian, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, San Marino, Sweden, Switzerland, Spain and Vatican

Zone 2: Croatia, Czech Republic*, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland*, Slovakia and Slovenia

Zone 3: All countries which are not in zone 1 or 2.

Jaguar, Land Rover, Maserati, Tesla and Porsche passenger cars and all convertibles are only permitted in zone 1.

Audi, BMW, Volvo, Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen passenger cars are only permitted in zone 1 and in countries marked with * in zone 2.

Passenger cars of all other makes have access to zones 1 and 2.

Access to countries in zone 3 is not permitted for any vehicle whatsoever.

The local transport of the vehicle by ferry is permitted in compliance with the above-mentioned entry restrictions. Damage to the vehicle during the crossing will be covered according to the protection booked in the rental contract.

In case of offence against cross border and territorial restrictions all insurances lose their validity.

Important documents:

The lessee and the driver must present a valid driver's license and an identity card or passport while receiving delivery of the vehicle.

Driver's licences from non-EU countries (except Switzerland) are accepted if:

a) no visa has been entered in the passport.

b) the customer has a visa in his passport and at the time of hire has not been in Europe for longer than 6 months. If he has been in Europe for longer than 6 months, he must present a driver's licence from an EU country.

Driver's license printed with non Roman Alphabet (Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Cyrillic etc) must be complemented by an international driver's licence. For driver's licenses from countries not part of the international driver's license treaty, an official translation of the license must be presented with the original license.
